The best way, we have found, to learn the Ori Puzzle is to experiment without a desired shape in mind.  However, if you desire to create the cube here is our suggestion. 

The Ori Puzzle is essentially 12 funny shaped pyramids connected together in a ring. Twisting sections of this ring, in or out of the center, brings the Ori Puzzle to loose states that are close to many desired forms. Said another way; loosening the Ori Puzzle and twisting or 'popping' sections inside out is how to get from one form to another. The cube is one such state.
